What is Sudo?

Sudo (su "do") allows a system administrator to delegate authority to give certain users (or groups of users) the ability to run some (or all) commands as root or another user while providing an audit trail of the commands and their arguments. For more information, see the introduction to Sudo.

 

Releases

The current stable version is sudo 1.7.3, released on June 29, 2010.

The current development version is sudo 1.7.4rc2, released on July 29, 2010.

 

News

[2010-07-29] Sudo version 1.7.4rc2 is now available. This is a release candidate for Sudo 1.7.4.

[2010-05-29] Sudo version 1.7.3 is now available. One of the biggest changes in this release is support for logging a command's input and output as well as the ability to replay sessions. Major changes in sudo 1.7.3.

[2010-05-29] Sudo version 1.7.2p8 is now available. This fixes a crash on AIX when LDAP support is enabled. Major changes in sudo 1.7.2p8.
